USA096 - Benitoite, Neptunite, and Joaquinite - Dallas Gem Mine, New Idria District, San Benito County, California

Superb thumbnail of translucent blue benitoite on dark red neptunite. There is also a sub-mm crystal of the rare complex cyclosilcate joaquinite on a contrasting spur of natrolite. The benitoite, which measures 1.4 cm, is triply terminated. The reverse of the lower left termination is contacted, but this cannot be seen from the display face. 1.8 x 1.3 x 1.1 cm.
