China027 - Cinnabar on Fluorite with Dolomite and Quartz - Tongren Mine, Tongren Co., Tongren Prefecture, Guizhou Province, China

Exceptional miniature of bright red,prismatic,gem crystals of cinnabar with dolomite and quartz. Untwinned, prismatic crystals like this are quite rare from China. The cinnabar measures to 1.4 cm, and is lustrous, transparent to translucent, and well-terminated. As an added bonus, and unusual for the locality, there is well-crystallized colorless fluorite on both sides of the specimen. This is a truly aesthetic and superb specimen. 4.6 x 4.4 x 3.5 cm.
