Fine small-cabinet specimen of clove-brown axinite-(Fe) from the early 1980's finds at this well-known California locality. Typical for this locality, the crystals have a more purplish color depending on the orientation of the light source. The axinite is lustrous, transparent to translucent, and measures to just over 1 cm. The crystals are overall in good condition with a few chipped edges; many of the crystals have a stepped appearance from multiple terminations.
